Obituary

Lee Edward Ham, 66, Black Hawk, died Saturday, September 8, 2007 at his residence in Black Hawk.

Lee was born June 5, 1941 at Pierre, SD, to Lloyd Lester and Margaret Elizabeth (Whitby) Ham. He graduated from White River High School in 1959 and enlisted in the US Army. He served in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1962.

Lee returned to White River and began a career in road construction that spanned South Dakota and several other states.

Lee married Janet Hitchings on September 14, 1963.

Lee retired in May of 2007 to his home where he enjoyed the wildlife that surrounded him. He also enjoyed fishing, target shooting, gun shows and the outdoors. He was a member of the American Legion in White River and enjoyed his coffee buddies.

Lee married Sandie Ohlson in Rapid City on June 11, 1992.

Survivors include his wife, one son and his wife,one daughter and her husband, two grandchildren,two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at the Piedmont Valley Lutheran Church in Piedmont with Pastor Carol Mapa officiating. Burial follows at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with military honors by the Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard.
