Obituary

Leland Allen "Lee" Osborn, 61, Deadwood, died peacefully at home after a lengthy illness on Sunday, May 17, 2009.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Steve Agan officiating.

Lee was born July 8, 1947, in Deadwood, SD, to Harvey M. and Mary Lou (Grebner) Osborn. He graduated from Lead High School in 1965. Lee married Linda Lou Heinrich on July 27, 1967, in Deadwood.

Lee was employed by Sears in Brooklyn Park, MN, from 1969 until 1976. He was later employed at Homestake Mining Co. for 26 years. Lee and Linda owned and operated the Timber Ridge Country Store from 1999 to 2004.

Lee loved his Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and bowling. His pride and joy were his three grandsons and his dogs, Sage, Bandit, and Kolbey.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Osborn, Deadwood; one daughter, Tara and her husband, Tim Chayka, and three grandsons, Brandon, Brady, and Bryson Chayka, Summerset, SD; his mother-in-law, Alvina Heinrich, Sturgis; sister-in-laws, Hilda Fredericksen, Sturgis, Delores (Gene) Trump, St. Louis, MO, Leatha (Al) Satterlee, Deadwood, Carol (Wayne) Burchett, Black Hawk, Ruth (Tom) Nowell, Box Elder, and Ramona Osborn, Grand Junction, CO; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dennis and Doug; sister-in-law, Sandy Osborn; brother-in-law, Dwayne Fredericksen; and his father-in-law, Fred Heinrich.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
