Lenore Hines passed away of natural causes last week at the Avantara St. Cloud Nursing Home in Rapid City, SD.  She was 95 years old.

She was born on a farm near the town of Ardill in Saskatchewan, Canada, but lived most of her adult life in Sturgis, SD. She arrived in Sturgis as a young Lutheran Parish Worker for Grace Lutheran Church. In 1960, she married Dr. Donald Hines.

Lenore and Don raised his three children, traveled back and forth to Mesa, Arizona in their retirement years, and were together 50 years until his death in 2010.

She remained active in Grace Lutheran Church until she was no longer able. Her faith never wavered, and she could quote scripture until the end.

Lenore is survived by three stepchildren, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, as well as four nieces and three nephews who live in Canada.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 13 at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
