Leona C. Young, 92, of Rapid City passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2007, at the New Underwood Good Samaritan Home.
Mrs. Young was born in Sidney, Iowa, on December 27, 1914, the daughter of Charles E. and Beulah Campbell. She married Ben Feldt in 1940; he died in 1958. She married Don Young in 1976; he died in 1998.
After graduating from high school in Elk Point, SD, Leona attended the University of Minnesota. Leona worked as a secretary and administrative assistant at both Garland Construction and Dilly Construction Companies in Rapid City. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star, and the National Secretaries Association.
Survivors include one son, Lee Feldt of Shepherdsville, KY; one daughter, Deborah Paxton, Brockton, MA; three grandsons; two great grand-daughters; one brother, Calvin Campbell and his wife of Charleston, IL; and two nephews, Roger Campbell and his wife of Cheyenne, WY; and Bernard Campbell, Lander, WY.
In addition to her two husbands, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Edward Campbell and his wife, Rose.
Services celebrating her life will be held Friday, September 7, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church in Rapid City. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Doriani. Following the services, internment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
