Leroy "Gale" Murphey, 74, Sturgis, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at the Sturgis Regional Hospital.
Visitation was Friday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church.
Funeral services are today, Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating.
Burial is Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at Kinkade Funeral Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery.
Gale was born July 30, 1931, at White Owl, to Ira C. and Minnie M. (Beehler) Murphey. He grew up in the White Owl area.
Gale served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Meade School District 46-1 for many years until his retirement.
Survivors include one brother and his wife, Robert and Bernice Murphey, Sturgis; one sister, Thelma Herbst, Kalispell, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents, two brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death.
A memorial has been established.
