Leslie Glenn Freese, 99, passed away May 24, 2026 in Spearfish, South Dakota at Edgewood. On May 19, 1927, Les was born to Mark E. Freese and Rose E. (Muske) Freese, in Grand Rapids, North Dakota. The family moved to Beach, North Dakota. He attended Beach High School and then in 1945 enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1948. He was the beloved husband of Joyce L. (Neudeck) Freese whom he married on December 30, 1950 in Beach, North Dakota. He was an aviator, crop duster, county judge and was appointed as postmaster in 1960, he was also with the Beach Volunteer Fire Department. In 1968 he moved his family to Spearfish, South Dakota where he had purchased the Mary Ann Drive In. He spent many years in construction, later moving to Gillette, Wyoming and worked for the Codero mine. When he retired he and Joyce moved back to Spearfish. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He had many hobbies including cooking, fishing, rug weaving and quilting. Leslie will be laid to rest privately at Black Hills National Cemetery.
