Lewis Eugene Goodine was born in Maine on October 31, 1941, to Edward and Mildred Goodine. As a boy, he found a passion for reading. He loved how books took him away to places in his mind and made him want to see and do anything he could. At this time, he had also met his lifelong friend, Leprechaun Oscar B. Carnahan, and together they traveled many places and went on countless adventures.
Lewis's favorite thing to do was story telling. We all have heard many of them, but there were so many there is a good chance that we missed out on half of them. He also had a passion for cooking and sharing his love with his family, friends, and pets.
Lewis had always had a big family. He grew up with his six brothers, Robert, Edward, Rodger, John, David, and Daniel, and four sisters, Alice Randall, Mary Lou Lucier, Diane Powers, and Lucille Canter. After leaving the Air Force, he met and later married Ann Butterworth. Together they had 5 children. In 1991, he married Princess Shay, and together they had quite a crew: sons, Tony (Mellissa) Goodine, Rodger (Natalie) Goodine, Matthew (Angie) Goodine, Eddie Shay, Darrel (Donna) Shay, Glenny Shay, and Memo (Theresa) Jaramillo; daughters, Andree Goodine, Faith (Dale) Butterworth, Candi (Robert) Rose, and Juli Rast; grandsons, David Goodine, Kyle Chaulk, Cody Butterworth, Austin Goodine, Spencer Goodine, Cameron Goodine, Manny Jaramillo, and Xavier Jaramillo; granddaughters, Tessa Goodine, Kelsey Chaulk, Corinne Goodine, Lilly Goodine, and Sophie Jaramillo; and great-granddaughter, Eevee Chaulk.
Lewis passed away at home in Sturgis, SD, surrounded with love and his beloved wife, Princess, by his side on Sunday, February 16, 2020.
