Lillian Marie Hall, 77, of Spearfish, SD died March 8, 2014. Lillian passed away at the Hospice House in Rapid City, SD after a long battle with cancer. Lillian grew up in Geddes SD, graduating in 1954. She met Verle V. Hall of Lake Andes, SD and she spent the next several years raising her family. Her husband was taken from her by cancer in 1972. Lillian had two great passions in life; music and caring for others. After raising her family, she went back to school and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, majoring in Music from Black Hills State University. She taught band and choir in Stickney and Murdo SD before returning home to Spearfish. She spent many years playing organ for Church and giving private piano lessons to many area children. She also worked for many years at the Dorsett Home in Spearfish, and in the home health care capacity. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Verle V. Hall, and parents Fred and Viola (Johnson) Fuchs. Lillian is survived by her 6 children; Dawn Schmidt (Bill), Verle V. Hall Jr (Marilyn), Duane Hall (Mary), Kirby Hall, Irma Story (Pat), and Linda Wahlberg (Chris), 18 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Lillian is also survived by 3 sisters; Alice Lucas, Mary Weerheim and Carol Walker (Larry), and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her strong sense of independence and strength will be forever with us. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Snapper's Club in Spearfish Park, Pastor Scott McKirdy officiating.
