Linda L. Moelter, 66, Sturgis, died Monday, October 18, 2010, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Arnold Kari officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.
Linda was born January 22, 1944, in Walt Hill, NE, to Henry and Frances Sedig. As a child, her family moved from job to job, finally settling in Timber Lake, SD.
She went to Faith, SD, where she met and married Robert Moelter on November 3, 1962. They resided in many towns throughout Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota and finally settled in Sturgis.
Linda was a long-time contract carrier for Seaton Publishing, Meade County Times, and Rapid City Journal. She loved gardening, canning, and crafting, but especially enjoyed working with the Toys for Tots program.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 48 years, Robert Moelter; three sons, Petty Officer Larry Moelter, Sturgis, Lt. Col. John Moelter (Bridgette), Georgia, and William Moelter (special friend, Sharlene), Sturgis; two daughters, Brenda Nikkila (Doug), Sturgis, and Carolyn Bertalot (Jerry), Sturgis; seven grandsons; ten granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Petty Officer Larry Moelter.
A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
