Lloyd R. Shepherd, 82 of Hot Springs died Monday, July 4, 2011 at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice Veterans Home in Hot Springs. Lloyd's cremated remains will be scattered near Hot Springs at a later date.

Lloyd was born September 1, 1928 at Eltmont, SD to William R. and Gertrude (Oeffler) Shepherd.

He is survived by two sons, Jerry (Emily) Shepherd of Watertown and Larry (Melenie) Shepherd of Brookings; one daughter Linda Goethe; his childrens mother Marie Shepherd of Watertown; six brothers, Donald of Florence, Raymond (Joan) of Elkton, William (Fran) of Clear Lake, Kenny (Karen) of Webster, Howard of Watertown and Leroy (Sue) Shepherd of Mercid, CA; and three sisters Dorothy Rosahiem of Rapid City, Laura Braach of Seattle, WA and Pauline (Bob) Engberg, Togiak, AK; and several grandchildren.
