IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lois Marie
Allart
August 1, 1928 – April 21, 2023
Lois Marie Allart, 94, of Belle Fourche, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at Judy's Assisted Living.
Lois was born August 1, 1928, to William (Bub) and Vivian Seaver Wilson in Lemmon, SD, and grew up in rural Perkins County. She was a tough cowgirl among her brothers, Verne, Eugene, Leonard, and Ernest. During her elementary years, she rode horseback to school and boarded in Bison for high school. She was elected as Homecoming Queen and graduated in 1946.
Her future husband, Martin (Zeke) Allart was discharged from the Navy, and they later married July 8, 1946. To this union, three children were born William (Bill), Linda, and Bret. They made their home south of Bison for the next 45 years where she loved Quarter Horses and passed that legacy down for many generations.
While raising her children and ranching, she attained an Elementary Education Degree from Black Hills Teachers College in Spearfish, SD, with an emphasis in Art. Later, she taught for several years in rural schools. Zeke and Lois later retired to a smaller ranch in Sundance, WY, where she was an active member in the Crook County Cattlewomen and her church. After her husband's death in 2003, she relocated to the Belle Fourche area.
Lois enjoyed sharing her love of art, western heritage, cooking, baking, attending her grandchildren's activities–especially rodeos, and spending time with her family.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Linda (Marlin) Brink of Union Center; son, Bret (Susan) Allart of Belle Fourche; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 5 brothers; and a son, Bill.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 26, 2023, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., at Kinkade Funeral Chapel, Sturgis, SD. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 27th, 1:00 p.m., at Kinkade's.
