Obituary

Lois was born November 9, 1925, on a farm near Liberty, NE, to Carl E. and Francis A. (Elliott) Leinweber. The family moved to a farm near Frankfort, KS, when she was very young. Lois loved to be around all the animals including the cows, horses, chickens, goats, cats and working dogs. She had a Shetland pony that was fun but "ornery". Her cousin visited every summer from Nebraska and since she did not have a horse, she really enjoyed the pony. The cousin had a bike and Lois remembered how fun it was to visit the cousin and ride the bike.

Lois and her sisters learned to swim in two cement horse tanks fed by the windmill. They swam in the town pool and a lake nearby. She walked one and a half miles to country school. She attended high school in Colorado and graduated in 1944. She always returned to the farm in Kansas for the summer.

Lois was working at Montgomery Wards when she met her future husband, Judge, Elrae Rosander, at her aunt and uncles house. They were married November 24, 1948 in Evergreen, CO, in a little log Christian church. They were blessed with a son and daughter.

The family lived in Lakewood, CO, for 23 years and moved to LaPorte, CO in 1974, living there until moving to Nisland in 1984

Over the years, Lois helped her husband in the trenching business and later worked at nursing homes in Colorado.

Lois Anne Rosander, 89, of Spearfish, formerly of Nisland, died Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Spearfish.
