Lottie Lou Hendrickson Alan died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the David M. Dorsett Health Care Facility in Spearfish.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spearfish with Pastor Gene Bauman officiating. Burial will be at the Whitewood Cemetery.
Memorials have been established to the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spearfish, Women in Crisis, or Atemis House in Spearfish.
Lottie was born February 13, 1930 at Huron, SD, to Charles and Minnie (Schmidt) Hendrickson. She moved with her parents to Sturgis in 1933. She received her education and graduated from the Sturgis school in 1949.
She lived in Sturgis most of her life, until marrying Elmer Alan on June 10, 1961 in Sturgis. They moved to a ranch near Belle Fourche where they ranched for 30 years. They retired and moved to Whitewood, SD.
Lottie was baptized and confirmed a Lutheran. She served on the Whitewood City Council for three years and was the Merit Mother of South Dakota in 1980. She followed her children's activities throughout their school years and coached softball for many of those years.
Survivors include her husband Elmer Alan, Whitewood, SD; one son Corey (Carissa) Alan, Whitewood, SD; six daughters, Sheila (Mike) Reed, San Diego, CA, Linda Weliever, Falmouth, ME, Rochelle (Don) Joslin, RC, Velda Ann (Jerry) Nelson, Belle Fourche, Tammy (Dave) Weber, Caldwell, ID, Nickie (Jim) Pulaski, Spokane, WA; also 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
