LuAnn E. Johnston, 67, Sturgis, died Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Foothills Assisted Living in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church with The Rev. Kay Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

LuAnn was born February 8, 1943, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Gustav and Rosamond (Stark) Anderson. She grew up near Salem and Brookings.

LuAnn was a homemaker and a wonderful mother to her four children. She had one granddaughter, Lyla.

She was married to Ray Johnston on February 23, 1980, in Spearfish.

Survivors include two sons, Brian A. Soule, Colorado Springs, CO, and William G. (Laura) Soule, Hollywood, MD; two daughters, Michele Soule, Spearfish, SD, and Dori Soule, Lakewood, CO; one brother, Marlowe (Margaret) Anderson, Victoria, BC, Canada; one sister, Nancy (Ted) Rose, Steamboat Springs, CO; and one granddaughter, Lyla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; and one brother, Emery Anderson.

A memorial has been established to St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
