Obituary

Nunny was born December 6, 1929, on her grandfather's ranch at White Owl, SD, to Jimmie and Ethel "Honey" (Horton) Simons. The family lived for 9 years at White Owl before moving to Marcus. They moved to Plainview where they owned and operated the Plainview Store. Nunny graduated from Faith High School in 1947.

Nunny met Clinton Tysdal at a country dance. They were married April 20, 1949, at Red Owl. They lived north of Red Owl before buying the Phillips place east of Red Owl. They leased the old Tysdal Ranch for 25 years. They retired in 1995 and moved to Sturgis. Nunny and Clinton wintered in Wickenburg, AZ, for 20 years where she made many friends and the ladies there still call their weekly get togethers after Nunny. It was often said she could have been elected Mayor of Wickenburg.

Nunny kept her coffee pot hot and usually a stop at her home meant pie and coffee or if near meal time a wholesome meal would be ready and she insisted everyone stay for the meal. Hospitality was her motto.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis, the VFW Auxiliary, and the Red Owl Decksters Card Club.
