Lucille Arvilla Rambo-Rawson, 87 of Rapid City, SD, formerly of Gordon, NE, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 30, 2023, at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD.

She was born on Wednesday, January 15, 1936, in Pelston, MI, to Lawrence and Arvilla (Cosgrove) Mitchell.

She is survived by her daughter, Glennyce (Rambo) Nelson and husband, Dennis, son, James Rambo and wife, Tonya, son, Terry Rambo and wife, Penny; step-daughter, Natalie Braden; step-son, Glen Braden wife, Cynita; sister, Helen (Mitchell) Nichols and husband, Jim; 20 grandchildren: Jeremy, Geri, Jason, Christin, Joseph, Channing, Briana, Charlene, Donald, Emily, Hannah, Leah, Riley, Kasie, Stacy, Tracy, Nick, Marcie, Nicole, and Jeffery; numerous great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by husband, William H. Rambo, husband, Billy Rawson, son, Lawrence Rambo, brother, Wendell Mitchell, partner, Millard Braden, parents, Lawrence and Arvilla (Cosgrove) Mitchell.

Late in life she fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse when she earned her LPN and then worked for the VA until her retirement. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gordon, NE.  She loved to knit, canning, and always grew beautiful flowers in the summer.

Memorial service will be held at the Rochford Chapel in Rochford, SD, on September 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be 2:00 p.m.at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
