Lyle Lloyd Benz, 82 of Newcastle, WY, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Fort Mead VA Medical Center in Sturgis, SD.

Lyle was born April 20, 1929 at Corsica, SD to Harry and Irene (Sievert) Benz.

Lyle was a truck and equipment operator in the Wyoming oil field for several years. He was in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and served Korea, receiving the Korean Service Medal and the Bronze Service Star.

Lyle is survived by his son James Benz of Castle Rock, CO. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce (Whitman) Benz.

Graveside services and inurnment will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date.
