HILL CITY | Lyle Dean Terrio passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at the VA Black Hills Health Care System - Fort Meade at the age of 84. Lyle was born May 2, 1930 in Yankton County to Robert and Helen Terrio. He spent his childhood on a farm in Irene. He was baptized and confirmed at Elim Church and attended Lonestar School. Lyle enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 and traveled extensively while working in communications. He was honorably discharged in 1976. After retiring, Lyle moved to Hill City where he continued his numerous hobbies, one of which was collecting and working on old radios. He also loved going fishing with his good friends while his health allowed. Lyle is survived and will be dearly missed by his two sisters, Lorraine Rye from Renner and Eleanor Edelman from Rapid City; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 9:00 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery on Friday, March 27, 2015. Military Honors will be provided by Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard. Chaplain (Ret.) Herbert B. Cleveland will be officiating. Lyle is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. A memorial has been established to the Dept. of Veteran Affairs Fort Meade Hospice Unit.
