STURGIS - Marcella Lucille "Sally" Rathke Ludington, 89, died, Friday, April 18, 2008, at the Sturgis Regional Health Care Center.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday April 21, at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis and one hour prior to the services at the church in Piedmont on Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the Piedmont Valley Lutheran Church, 16155 Spring Valley Rd., Piedmont, with Pastor Carol Mapa officiating. Burial will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Survivors include her children, Donna Rae Heston-Edwards, Rapid City, Marjorie Louise Heston-Blanchard and her husband, Bob, San Diego, CA, William Kenneth Heston Jr., and his wife, Ellen, Piedmont, SD, Laura Lee Heston Myers and her husband, Bob, Black Hawk, SD, Terry Lynn Heston-Hoeye and her husband, Richard, Rapid City, Pat Lynn Ludington-Nichols and her husband, Larry, Alton, KS, David Ross Ludington, Hot Springs, SD, and Charles Faye Ludington, Rapid City; daughter-in-law, Terry, and son-in-law, George. Survivors also include 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Kenneth Heston and Charles "Chuck" David Ludington; and brothers, Dewey Rathke and Orville "Bud" Rathke.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation.
