Piedmont, SD - Marda Dee Carpenter, 74 of Piedmont, SD, died Monday, September 9, 2013 at Rapid City Hospice of the Hills. Survivors include her son, James N. Carpenter; her daughter, Demi D. Stewart; brother, Elmer Filbert; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil W. Carpenter and her parents Elmer and Enid Filbert. Per her request, cremation has taken place at Black Hills Funeral Home in Sturgis, SD. Her ashes will be spread in California at a later date.
