Margaret was born the third of five children to Parks and Emma (Hebner) DuPont on May 23, 1930, in Nisland, SD. She attended school in Lead, SD, and worked at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She married Frank Matulovich and they started their family in Lead where they raised their children, Lon and Pamela. Margaret moved to Gillette, WY, in the late sixties and worked as an activity director for Pioneer Manor for over 20 years until her retirement. After marrying Dean Tusha they moved to Spearfish, SD, in order to enjoy life in the Black Hills.
Margaret was well known for her beautiful garden and flowers. She loved hosting dinner parties as she was an amazing cook. She especially loved Christmas and had an extensive Christmas / Santa collection. Margaret found great joy being in nature and camping. She also loved watching and feeding birds.
Margaret Tusha, 87, Lead and formerly of Gillette, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018, at Deadwood Regional Hospital with family by her side.
Grateful to have shared in her life are her daughter, Pam Jackson; grandsons, Bob (April) Matulovich and Randy Matulovich, Fred (Jennifer), Michael, and Frank (Rosie) Jackson; sister, Marcadas Borup; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
Margaret and Pam were grateful for the love and support from the Stabnow family and Margaret's niece, Laura LaPorte.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Parks DuPont; son, Lon Matulovich; two brothers, Emil Gurwell and Lyle DuPont; sister, Laurel Abraham; and her husbands.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Lead, SD. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall. Interment will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery later this summer.
