Margery Ione Bunney was born February 2, 1930, in Arlington, SD, to Clarence "Mike" Friedel and Abbie (Coy) Friedel. Margery attended elementary school in Wolsey and high school in Newell, SD.

Margery married Frederick Bunney and they made their home in Newell. Margery and her husband owned and operated Bunney's Cleaners. After her husband's death, Margery worked at the local grocery store and Tri-County Lockers. Margery later moved to Spearfish, SD, and managed Lou's Liquor Store until her retirement.

Margery Ione Bunney, 87, Spearfish, died Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Rapid City Regional Hospital with her family by her side.

She is survived by her sister, Mildred Vasknetz; sons, Marjoe (Cathy), Las Vegas, NV, Michael (Janelle), Rosemount, MN, Monte (Lina), Las Vegas, NV, and Marlon (Barbara), Rapid City, SD; and daughter, Lynette (Edward) Culver, Newell, SD; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family who considered her "mother."

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, James A. Friedel and Richard Friedel; and stepchildren, Frederick Bunney, Jr., Ronald Bunney, and Gloria Dahlberg.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Pastor Tom Martin officiating. Family and friends may gather at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis at 1:00 p.m. prior going to the cemetery.
