Margery Anna Ingalls, 102, Sturgis, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2014, where she longed to be for many years. Margery was a soft spoken, mighty, little lady who was born on March 29, 1912, to Charles and Nona (Carter) Bowlby. She was born in Faith, SD, at her Grandma Bowlby's home, grew up in the Opal, SD, area, and was one of thirteen children. She attended rural school through the 8th grade.

Margery married Walter Howard Ingalls on December 8, 1930, in Sturgis, SD. They ranched and raised their family near Opal. They moved to Sturgis in the early 1970's where she was very active at the Sturgis Senior Citizen Center and the Square Dance Club. Margery enjoyed sewing and made most of her clothes. She also made numerous things for her grandchildren which even included some wedding dresses. After Walter passed away, Margery lived in their home where she push mowed her own lawn until she was 98. On July 30, 2010, she moved into Our House Assisted Living where she lived until she entered her new home in heaven.

Margery is survived by five children, Catherine Tifft, Faye Fees, Marlin (Ethel) Ingalls, Howard (Kay) Ingalls, and Ann (Ted) Mahaffy; one brother, Carl Bowlby; one sister, Mary Arneson; 17 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 46 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; ten siblings; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will Thursday, October 2nd starting at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis with Rev. Denzel Nonhof and Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to the Mark Park and Our House Assisted Living.
