Obituary

Margie Rae (Beckman) Fischer was born August 26, 1942, in Rhame, ND, to George and Margaret (Gore) Beckman. She lived and attended school in Buffalo, SD. She later moved with her family to Deadwood, where she graduated. Margie chose to be carefree and love life; always looking for fun and adventure. She worked at a couple diners in Deadwood, loved dancing, was a natural at playing the piano and the accordion. It was at this time when she met her future husband, Ronald Fischer.

Margie and Ron were married for 55 years and had 3 children: Ronnie, Kimberly, and Bryan. Margie worked for over 20 years, in healthcare, assisting elderly individuals in their homes. She was very compassionate about the clients she worked for and made everyone feel special.

Margie retired because of health issues. She was not one to complain or give anyone a reason to be concerned. She was a very strong lady with a deep love for her family and friends.

Margie passed away October 7, 2023, at Rolling Hills Healthcare in Belle Fourche, SD. She was able to spend her last days with her children and her sister, Shirley.

Survivors include her children: Ronnie (Jill) Fischer, Kimberly (Luke) Scott, and Bryan (Lisa) Fischer; four grandchildren: Crystal, Nicole, Amanda (Tim), and Stephanie; four great-grandchildren: Rhilynn, Asher, Aiden, and Quintin; and her sister, Shirley Mohr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, parents. George and Margaret (Hansen) Beckman, stepfather. Henry "Hank" Hansen, her daughter-in-law, Julie Fischer, her brother, Jerry Beckman, and her great-grandson, Bentley.

Margie's family is grateful for all of the care providers and medical staff who cared for her over the years.

Visitation for Margie will be 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, SD.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Sturgis United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.
