IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margretha Elizabeth
Bedsaul
January 5, 1933 – November 21, 2018
Margaret was born to the late Gust Christopherson and Frances Stransky on January 5, 1933, in Howard, SD. Margaret valued education highly and at the young age of 14, Margaret bravely ventured out of her parents' home to join the work force so that she could attend high school. This value in education was passed on to her children and grandchildren and will be continued to be passed on to her great-grandchildren. After she graduated, she continued working as a waitress for several years until she began her career as a care giver and teacher's aide for Black Hills Special Services. She worked both in the group home and school settings. Even though the work was challenging, Margaret felt rewarded and was always seen with a smile on her face when working with the kids.
Margaret was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed preparing holiday meals and hosting family gatherings. The great memories we have of these gatherings are too many to share, but we are thankful for the wonderful family she created that allowed us to spend many holidays together. Margaret was a skilled seamstress and she enjoyed completing puzzles in her free time. She was also known as a food critic to some of us and she could recommend the best restaurants in town. Margaret said the best day of her life was the day that she became a mother. Her happiest times were the times that she spent with her family, including the recent addition of 3 great-grandchildren.
Our beloved Margaret Elizabeth Bedsaul, age 85, of Rapid City, SD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
Margaret is survived by her four children: daughter, Francis Shepersky and her husband, Donald; son, Jerry Bedsaul; daughter, Shirley Meyer and her husband, Harold; and daughter, Mary Rieb and her husband, Terry. Furthermore, she is survived by four grandchildren, Tanya Shepersky, Christy Shepersky, Amanda King (Bryan), and Stacy Cole (Jason). She was also very blessed in the last few years to be able to meet and spend precious time with three great-grandchildren, Charlie King, Kiera King, and Jack Cole.
She is preceded by her loving husband of 39 years, Harris Bedsaul; and 5 brothers, Harold, Frank, Paul, Carl, and Christ Christopherson.
For all of those who knew Margaret and wish to celebrate her life with us, burial and graveside services will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery on November 27, 2018, at 10:00 a.m.
