Marie was born March 14, 1933, in Sturgis, SD to Earl and Mildred (Oster) Edwards.

She graduated from Vale high school. After high school she worked at the Belle Fourche MaBell Telephone Company. After attending Black Hills State University for accounting she worked as an accountant at Homestake Sawmill until 1980 then transfer to Homestake Goldmine in payroll until her retirement in 1997.

September 26, 1953, she married Gerald Foltz, and lived with the love of her life for over 60 years.

Marie was a member of the Altar Society and served her church and community in many ways. She loved bowling, card club, knitting and Good Sam's camping. Marie loved spending time with her grandchild, Nicole, and great-grandchildren who called her GeeGee for short making her giggle and shine with love.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald, Spearfish, SD; one daughter, Renee (Larry) Carr, Rapid City, SD; one granddaughter, Nicole (Bernard) Frankl, Lincoln, NE; and 3 great-grandchildren, Keith, Ben and Gerald.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mildred Edwards; and one sister, IlaMae Miller.

Marie E. Foltz, 81, Spearfish, died Tuesday, May 26, 2014, in Yankton, SD.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 30, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spearfish with Msgr. Michael Woster officiating. A rosary vigil will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at 6:00 p.m.
