Marilyn E. Hisgen, 64, Rapid City, passed away Sunday June 21, 2009 at her residence in Rapid City.
Memorial services will be 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rapid City with Pastor Skip Smith officiating.
A memorial has been established to the Westminster Bell Choir.
Marilyn was born November 8, 1944 at Carbondale, IL, to Homer and Ruby (Ablett) Cutler. She grew up in Carbondale and graduated from University High School of SIU and studied at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
She married and moved with her husband to Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City. Marilyn worked for the Guide and the Tri State Livestock News for many years. She also worked for Science Linkages in the Community based out of the SD School of Mines and Technology. She worked as a Transportation safety coordinator until her health forced her into retirement.
Marilyn was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and served as both Elder and Deacon.
Survivors include her daughters, J.J. Renli and her husband Anthony, Sioux Falls, Kendra Smith and her husband Bill, Rapid City, Lynell Hisgen and Corey, Omaha, NE; one brother Darrel Cutler and his wife Mary, Herrin, IL.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister.
