IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marjorie Berniece
R. Hershey
March 31, 1942 – December 11, 2015
Marjorie Hershey was born March 31, 1942, to Clyde and Esther (Eklund) Bowers. Margie, as she liked to be called, was a music theory graduate of Pacific Lutheran University and filled countless souls with beautiful music throughout her life. She taught music, played the church organ for several congregations, and directed choirs.
Late in life, Margie received a call to follow her heart to the seminary. She found her ultimate joy in becoming an ordained minister of the Lutheran Church at age 68, first serving Prairie Fellowship parish out of Bison, SD, then at Piedmont Valley Lutheran Church for the past 2 years.
Margie died December 11, 2015, at home following a brief hospitalization and hospice care.
Margie is survived by her husband, Brooke Hershey; children, Moriah (Dennis) Wilkinson and Scott (Carrie) Ronken; brother, Les (Janice) Bowers; and sister, Kathy (Dick) Park.
Margie was preceded in death by her first husband, Aaron Ronken; and her son, Joshua Ronken.
The family has established a memorial fund in Margie's honor at the church and requests contributions in lieu of flowers.
