RAPID CITY | Marjorie Lois Spalding, 93, of Rapid City, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at her residence. Marjorie Lois Price was born January 21, 1921 in Froid, Montana to parents, Fred and Ella Price. At age five she moved with her family to Hot Springs where she attended school until graduation. She married the love of her life, Jack Spalding on February 28, 1941. In February 1942 they welcome their daughter, Rachelle to the family with Jack's children, Phyllis and Jackie. They lived in Washington, California, and Oregon before settling back in Hot Springs. Margie loved sewing and was the "go to gal" for alterations in Hot Springs. She loved music and with Jack and his friends they formed "The Dukes of Rhythm" swing band playing all through the Black Hills. Margie loved mystery books, crossword puzzles, collecting turtles, crocheting, knitting, and most of all her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her brothers Clifford, Clayton, and Horrace; and her sisters, Peggy, Dodie, Myrtle, and Thelma. She is survived by her daughter, Rachelle, and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Those who loved Marjorie are invited to an informal celebration of life at her granddaughters, located at 22776 Radar Hill Road in Box Elder on October 19 at 2:00 pm.
