Mark Erman Norby was born on June 30, 1953, to Erman and Neltha (Schmidt) Norby in Mobridge, SD.

Mark was such an intelligent person. A lot that knew him did not know that. Mark was the State of South Dakota Student Employee of the Year in 1998-1999.  He was awarded that by the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators. Mark was also Who's Who Among Students In American Universities and Colleges in recognition of outstanding merit and accomplishments as a student at Black Hills State University, 1998-99. Mark was the Highest-Ranking Student his freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior year at Black Hills State University. Mark had several degrees in different subjects. Mark also had a degree in photography.  He did outstanding photography work.

Mark Erman Norby, 70, of Sturgis died Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

Mark you were a special friend to those that knew you and you were a friend to anyone you met. Those friends, and Larry and I will miss you.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, both sets of grandparents and his brother, David, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Just like every time we talked it was always "see you, Cuz. Love ya talk to you later bye"!
Graveside services will be Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Lawn Cemetery in Rapid City, SD.
