She later divorced and moved to Las Vegas, NV where she started her career working in the casinos. While living there she met and married Dick Sichterman, however, their marriage lasted only a short time. Then Marlene met and married Edward Gilzow with whom she moved to Lake Tahoe, NV and worked in the casinos there. Ed and Marlene moved to Blanchard, ID for a short time then returned to Nevada where they divorced a short time later. Marlene then moved back to Sturgis to live by and help care for her mother. After her mother's passing Marlene moved back to Lake Tahoe for a while then returned to Sturgis to live with her daughter Wendy.
