A memorial has been established.
He will be greatly missed by family, friends and all who knew him.
Marshal was born May 4, 1951, in Hettinger, N.D. to Dean and Vita (Deavy) Kok.
He was thankful for the many friends he met through his welding and trucking careers. He traveled extensively and had many unique opportunities in life including fabricating useful tools such as an operating table for horses used by Sturgis veterinarian Dr. John Ismay.
Marshal always believed he was born 100 years too late. He embraced the pioneer lifestyle and spirit. He enjoyed making tools and machinery from scratch. Family and friends knew that if machinery could be improved upon, Marshal could do it.
Marshal was most at home outdoors whether it be hunting, fishing or ranching. He lived a full happy life and will be laid to rest near the family homestead in Perkins County.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette Kok, Sturgis; son, Tom Kok (Joanie), Bowman, N.D.; daughter, Tennille Harwood (Chad); grandchildren, Mariah, Londin, Dawson and Dylon, all of Sturgis; his parents, Dean and Vita Kok of Hettinger, N.D.; and a brother, Tim Kok (Jeanie), Whitewood.
