Martin Charles Dick, 91, Rapid City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Fountain Springs Nursing Home, with his loving wife by his side.
Memorial services will be held at 9:30am on Friday, August 30, 2013, at Bethel Assembly of God in Rapid City with Pastor Jim Sorum and Pastor Wes Wileman officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
Martin was born on August 13, 1922, to Herman and Amanda (Avord) Dick in Colburn, Wisconsin. He grew up in Gilman and Cornell, Wisconsin. He became a heavy duty mechanic and worked on several dams throughout the United States. Martin then moved to Ft. Pierre where he met Anna Schlittenbauer, and married her on June 9, 1966, in Gettysburg, SD. The couple later moved to Rapid City.
Martin liked to bowl, hunt, and fish, but especially loved time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he always lovingly called his "buddies" and "little dollies".
He is survived by his wife, Anna, Rapid City; son, Marty Reed, Torrington, WY; daughters, Dorothy Adams-Frasier, and Nancy (Clayton)Weaver-Kelly, both of Rapid City; twin sister, Harriet Geissler, Chippewa Falls, WI; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Martin is preceded by his parents; brother, Bernard Dick; sister, Philomene Butak; and son, Larry Hunt.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
