Marvin Bevier passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Hospice House in Rapid City. Marvin Eugene Bevier was born on February 7, 1940 in Sioux City, Iowa to Buford and Elizabeth Bevier. They lived on the Bevier farm in Alpena until moving to Rapid City in 1954. Marvin attended schools in Wessington Springs and the Rapid City area. He married Joyce (Baumberger) on October 18, 1958. They had four children, Mike, Lori, Mark, and Danny. Marvin had severe polio as an infant but never let that deter him from doing what he lovedmasonry work, sign painting, and woodwork. His greatest joy was his family and the many fishing and camping trips they took, the family barbeques in Mike, Lori, and Mark's backyards, the wild horseshoe games, and the crazy contests Mark came up with at Christmas gatherings. Marvin had a passion for fishing whether it was sitting in an ice shack, shore fishing, in a boat with his friends and sons, or just him and his fly rod in Spearfish Canyon. We would like to thank the nursing staff at Hospice of the Hills: Steve Hilton for his offers to fly Marvin to the Mayo Clinic, Billy Tyler, Theresa James, and Jan Terry for the long hours they spent with Marvin in his final journey. We will miss you, but know you are in God's loving arms. Marvin is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Michael and Mark (Jolene); daughter, Lori (Dan Lee); grandchildren, Brandon, Brett, Devon, Haley, and Cody Bevier, Justin, Colton, Chelsie, Tyler, and Beau Vickerman, and Ben Lee; brother, Stanley (Betty); sisters, Gloria Bakeburg, Jeri Archer; and numerous nieces and nephews, and special in-laws in Rapid City and Diamondale, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Daniel. As per Marvin's wishes, his body will be cremated with no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Masonic Temple at 618 Kansas City Street in Rapid City on Sunday, April 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. Luncheon will be served, all friends and family welcome.
