Mary Ann was born August 12, 1928 to Harrison & Laura (Hollmer) Sturges in Sioux City, IA.

Mary Ann Hackert, 88, of Lincoln, passed away on March 17, 2017.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Betsy) Howe, Ann Hackert (Hal Hellwig); siblings, Bill Sturges, Sally Sturges and Virginia Asbury. She will be missed by her nine grandchildren, Ben & David Hellwig, Lara Wooley, Alan Gertonson, Rob Howe, Berni Kappel, Karoline Neill, Amanda (Gerty) Wyatt, Peter Gertonson and twenty one great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; sisters, Millie Pistuka, Suzie Sturges and brother, Tom Sturges.

Rosary is at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel, 1235 Junction Avenue, Sturgis, S.D. 57785.

Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday May 26, 2017, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis, SD, immediately followed by inurnment at the Black Hills National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mary Ann Hackert Memorial Funds to be divided among four charities she selected.
