Mary Lynn Smith, 56, passed away January 2, 2024, at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City.

Mary was born April 11, 1967, in Mobridge, SD to Dennis and Margaret (Kleemann) Kornmann.  She graduated from Mobridge High School in 1985 and attended Black Hills State College for a few years.  On October 7, 1995, she was united in marriage to Gordon Smith.  They made their home in Deadwood, SD.  Mary was a homemaker and loved to cook.  She also enjoyed connecting with friends and family on Facebook.  Mary was a lover of animals and over the years adopted two puppies from animal rescues – Murphy and Paige.

Mary is survived by her husband, Gordy; Paige (her furry family member); sister, Deb (Barry) Dufour; brothers, Dan (Patti) Kornmann, Todd Kornmann and Ross (Kristi) Kornmann; father-in-law, Lorne Smith; brothers-in-law, Pat (Dawn), Bernie (Judy), Marty (Michelle) and Brad (Deb); along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law.

A celebration of life will be held at the VFW in Deadwood on January 23, 2024, at 3:00pm.
