MaryLin McDaniels, 72, Rapid City, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on March 1, 2019, after losing her battle with cancer.
MaryLin was born October 7, 1946, in Hot Springs, SD, to Rose and Felton Willoughby. She lived in several places growing up; Chadron, NE, Manitou, CO, and Oelrichs, SD, where she was raised by her grandparents on their ranch. She graduated from high school in Cripple Creek, CO.
She retired from Rapid City Regional hospital where she worked in Food Services for over 30 years. Some of her favorite memories are with her work family. MaryLin loved to laugh and make others laugh. She had a way of making others feel special. She will be remembered for her wit, sense of humor, compassion, and generosity. Her advice to others was always to do right, do good, and be nice. She loved spending time with her family and friends and her 2 dogs, Toby and Sparky. She also enjoyed working in her yard, decorating for every holiday, drinking coffee, and watching the weather channel. The things she valued most was family, friends, and God.
MaryLin is survived by her husband, Richard McDaniels; daughter, Kim (Robert) Corey; son, Karl Koster; granddaughters, Jordyn Corey, Kylie Koster, and Emma Malmberg; brother, David Willoughby; two nieces, Tina McComb and Tammy Bradford; and her step-children, grandchildren, and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-son.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019, at noon on the 2nd floor of Memorial Park Apartments, 420 Philadelphia Street, Rapid City.
