November 5, 1942 – November 9, 2021
Maude (Griffith) Flahaven was born on November 5, 1942, to Alvin and Rose (Tracy) Griffith, at Dupree, South Dakota. She attended schools in Ziebach County and Dupree, SD. On June 3, 1961, she married John Flahaven and the couple resided in Dupree, until moving to Ft. Pierre, SD, in 1963. There she was employed by the City of Ft. Pierre and later by the Department of Social Services, Medical Division, until the couple moved to Montpelier, ND, in 1981. They later moved to Sundance, Wyoming, in 1986, where they operated a trucking company until retirement.
She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Shelley (Dave) Kastet of Glasgow, MT; son, Cody (Elizabeth) Flahaven of Sundance, WY; sisters, Mercedes Pritzkau, Alva Till, Dorothy Tibbs, Leona (Gay) Rusicka; brothers, Carl, Tom, and Rollis Griffith; grandchildren, Ross (Kari) Kastet, Jacy Kastet, Darcy, Dawson, and Wyatt Flahaven, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Alvin and Rose; sisters, Lorretta and Janet; an infant sister.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m., with graveside services to follow at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, South Dakota.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.
