Maxine Rennemo Sandvig, 88, passed away peacefully December 14, 2024 at Monument Health Hospital, Spearfish, SD.

Maxine was born June 2, 1936 to Ingvar and Esther Rennemo of Kelliher, MN in the Shotley area. She graduated from Kelliher High School. Maxine married Jim Petrowske of Waskish, MN on June 30, 1954 and to this union two children were born; son, Kelly and daughter, Denise. The family was active in running the Waskish Minnow Station, raising wild rice, and working in the logging industry during the winter months. Maxine moved to Bemidji, MN in 1975, where she received a degree in accounting and worked for General Trading. In 1978 she moved to the Twin Cities where she held several jobs in sales and credit; at one point working for St. Regis Paper Company and Sandoz Nutrition. She also acquired a marketing degree from Normandale College at this time.

In 1986 Maxine met the love of her life, Otto Sandvig. They were married in a lovely wedding and grand party April 29, 1989, residing in Roseville, MN. Maxine and Otto enjoyed a happy retirement of many winters in the Mesa area of Arizona, gardening, traveling, and an avid interest in genealogy led them to Norway to meet many new found relatives. They enjoyed hosting family reunions for Otto's large extended family.

She also enjoyed antique hunting, garage sales, and finding furniture for Otto to repair and sell at many of their own garage sales. The van was always full of new treasures! Maxine and Otto were active in Roseville Lutheran Church in Roseville right up until the time of Otto's passing in 2015. Maxine continued to reside there until September 2023 when she moved to Sturgis, SD.

Maxine was preceded in death by her Parents and husband, Otto Sandvig.

She is survived by her son, Kelly (Patsy) Petrowske, Waskish, MN; daughter, Denise Petrowske and Randy Carlson, Sturgis, SD; grandson, Jon Petrowske and special friend, Alyssa Cummings, Bemidji, MN; granddaughter, Melinda Petrowske and Jon 'Theo' Theodorakakos, Plymouth, MN; great granddaughters, Petra Theodorakakos and Talia Theodorakakos; sister, Carol Olson, Bemidji, MN; and brother, Wally (Clarita) Rennemo, Kelliher, MN, and numerous treasured nieces and nephews.
