Maxine Bertha Tadych, 78, died Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be noon until 9:00 p.m. at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis on Thursday. Visitation will resume at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2009, at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Rev. Denzel Nonhof officiating. Burial will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Maxine was born April 27, 1931, at Mandan, ND, to William and Bessie (Rychlick) Lehto. She was schooled in rural schools as well as schools in Bismarck, ND. On January 1, 1959, she married Waldo Tadych in Miles City, Montana. Because her husband was a career military man, they moved all over the country. She worked in various department stores, as well as volunteering at community centers. After her mother's death, Maxine moved back to Sturgis, SD, in 2003, where she volunteered at the Meade County Senior Center. She enjoyed trips to Deadwood.

Survivors include her son, Kim (Jacque) Tadych, Denver, CO; daughter, Kerrie (Michael) Radoll, Valentine, NE; her brother, Kenneth Lehto, Sturgis; two grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
