Obituary

Maxine Mae Wright, age 90, Deadwood, SD, passed away Thursday morning, October 29, 2015, at home with family.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. at the VFW in Deadwood. Inurnment will be Monday, November 9, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Maxine was born November 1, 1924, in Estelline, SD, the daughter of Ora (Gray) and Norman Burgess. She attended the Little Red School House and graduated from Spearfish High School in the class of '43. Maxine then attended Spearfish Normal.

Maxine married her first husband of 13 years, Edwin Goeringer, in 1944 and had two sons. She then met her love of 33 years, Everett Wright, and his daughter. They were married in 1958 and added a son to the family. Throughout her lifetime, she lived in South Dakota, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and wintered in Arizona for some 30 years.

Maxine loved spending time with people and had many friends dating back over 75 plus years. She loved to have people visit and stay with her. Her hobbies included traveling, snowmobiling, knitting, reading books, baking cookies, and talking. Maxine was a life-member of the VFW Auxiliary, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Black Hills Pioneers, to name a few.

She is survived by sons, Norman "Rick" (Joanann) Goeringer of Deadwood, SD, and Randy (Celeste) Wright of Loveland, CO; step-daughter, Sharon (Dave) Zadra of Byers, CO; grandsons, Keith (Kate) Goeringer of TN, Jeremy Goeringer and Brandon (Melissa) Goeringer of SC, Chris (Suzanne) Zadra, Craig Zadra, Justin Wright, and Nathan Wright of CO, and Clayton Wright of OR; one granddaughter, Lacey Goeringer of SD; five great-grandsons; and four great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Wright; son, Ronald Goeringer; and her parents.

Maxine will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Hospice of the Northern Hills.
