IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Melinda Grace
Thompson
December 28, 1960 – November 3, 2016
Melinda Grace Thompson rose to join our Lord on Thursday, November 3, 2016, and she is flying peacefully among her fellow Angels. Melinda was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and enjoyed remission from the disease for almost 2 years before it returned and she eventually lost her battle with it.
Melinda had a strong love for all life, her home in the Black Hills, the Texas Coast, and Hawaii. She started life as the daughter of a doctor and an amazingly caring mother. Melinda shared their passion for love and curing of others. Melinda would often boast that her daddy is a doctor and, 'you better listen to me.' She touched many lives because she sought knowledge about health and nutrition and eagerly shared it with others; even strangers.
Melinda had so many gifts and so many talents that she touched the lives of almost every person she met. She was a bright star and followed her own ideas. She was very outgoing. She really knew how to get to know people and had many great loving friends. She was also a strong believer in prayer and had many Christian, Lakota, and Navajo prayer partners.
Melinda graduated high school in Electra, Texas, and met her husband, Scott, briefly while she attended Midwestern State University. They were reintroduced 14 years later by a friend who worked for Scott's research company as a graduate student. Scott and Melinda immediately began a fairy-tale romance novel life together that continued through her last breath. Both operated home based businesses and traveled the country frequently to meet customers. Owing to the nature of their work, they were together 24 hours a day. Scott and Melinda were literally inseparable and they never lost that "crazy about each other" love that many couples only feel during the early stages of courtship.
She enjoyed the great love of her nieces and nephews and is further survived by her husband, Scott; mother & father, Shirley & Ron; and her sisters, Deanna, Donna, and Heather. There will never be another beaming light like Melinda and she will be deeply missed. She loved every bit of God's creations and her beautiful spirit is looking down upon all that was dear to her during her time on earth. God Bless you my love.
