Melissa Dawn Bettencourt, 42, of Rapid City, passed away in her home on October 26, 2015. Melissa was born February 13, 1973 at Ft. Campbell, KY to Michael and Paula (Arnold) Skinner. She has a husband, Jude, son, Ian, and sister, Stephanie who survive. Both parents also survive. Melissa spent most of her childhood in Newcastle, WY, and attended the nursing program at Casper College. She loved working in the labor and delivery Dept. at Rapid City Regional Hospital, working there since 2001. The love and passion for her work was apparent to all who knew her. Melissa enjoyed cooking and loved to spend time on the water. Warm smiles and kind gestures were always extended, and her love for life was unparalleled. In the end, it was Cancer that took her life early. After a long and courageous battle, Melissa went peacefully, surrounded by great friends and family. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed.

A celebration of Melissa's life will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Lincoln Room at the Ramkota.
