Melissa Ann (Peacher) Green, of Sturgis, South Dakota, passed away on July 31, 2023, at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

Melissa Ann Green was born on July 1, 1960, in Dumfries, Virginia, to Arlene Jenkins (Blum) and Charles Peacher. She attended Capital Christian School and graduated and later took some college classes. Melissa lived in Maryland for the majority of her life and worked for the government in Crystal City, Virginia, before relocating to South Dakota to marry the love of her life. Douglas Green in 1997. and later worked for Fort Meade VA Hospital. She was dedicated to her work and made a positive impact on those around her.

In her free time, Melissa enjoyed various hobbies including quilting, making cards, photography, scrapbooking, camping, traveling, and fishing. If you didn't know where a quilt shop was, she sure knew and always had to find one in different places she traveled too. These activities brought her joy and allowed her to express her creativity.

Melissa is survived by her husband, Douglas L. Green; her daughter and son-in-law, Callie and Adam Michalsky; her grandchildren, Ayla Michalsky, and Beau Michalsky; her stepfather, Jack Jenkins; two sisters, Donna Elliott, and Deborah Lee; three brothers, Tim Peacher, Mike Peacher, and Chuck Jenkins; and many nieces and nephews that she thought the world of.

Melissa is preceded in death by her parents, Arlene and Charles; her grandmother, Annie (Hoy) Thorn, grandfather, Abraham Blum, and an infant.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Melissa at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, SD, on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor John Williamson officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Believers Fellowship Church Rebuild Fund.

Melissa's warm presence and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace and be running in the streets of gold in heaven.

Melissa will be interred at Jenkins Cemetery, Bryson City, North Carolina.
