Sturgis | Mettie Bernice Houchins, 89, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Sturgis Regional Senior Care. She is survived by her children including three sons and five daughters: Carl (Lisa) Houchins Jr, Denver, Colorado; Mitchell L. Houchins, Lakewood, Colorado; Michael L. Houchins, Lakewood, Colorado; Linda (Alvin) Span, Sturgis; Bonnie J. Lowe, Rapid City; Vicki (Jerry) Stratton, Hot Springs; Belinda Bernice Addington, Deadwood; Marie (Terry) Youkins, Simpsonville, South Carolina; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Stewart Houchins, Sr. Upon her request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
