Obituary

Michael Joseph Deutsch was born to Joe M. and Edythe Deutsch, he was raised on the family farm by Buffalo Lake near Eden, South Dakota. Mike was the second of four children He went to high school in Webster and Roslyn, South Dakota. He joined the National Guard.
Mike went on to live in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he met Judy (Salmon),
Mike and Judy married in 1966 and had three sons. They moved their family from Little Canada, Minnesota to Westminster, Colorado in 1978 and then settled in Sturgis in 1983.
He was a fire protection sprinkler fitter for about 15 years and then started Cimarron Drilling in the early 1980s. Mike and the company worked in several western states drilling shot holes for seismographic oil exploration. After moving to Sturgis, the company begins drilling and servicing water wells throughout the Black Hills area for over 30 years.
Mike loved horses and owned them all of his life. He enjoyed going to rodeos, auctions and traveling with his wife. He refused to drive anything but a Ford and also owned several classic cars. Mike was a great conversationalist and loved meeting new people and running into folks that he already knew.
He is survived by family members;three sons,a granddaughter and a great granddaughter; and two sisters
He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, Sister Susie Sichmeller, brother-in-law Larry Sichmeller, and his parents Edythe and Joe Deutsch.
