Michael F. "Mick" Muck, 68, Spearfish, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Mid Dakota Hospital in Chamberlain.
Visitation will be noon until 9 p.m. on Sunday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid City with Pastor Dwight Stensgaard officiating. Burial with military honors by the Sturgis Veteran's Honor Guard follows at 2 p.m. at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
A memorial has been established.
Mick was born January 18, 1942 at Sioux Falls, SD, to Merle and Mila (Wendt) Muck. He moved to Geddes as a young boy and graduated from Geddes High School.
Mick joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country honorably. Following his discharge he returned to Geddes where he married Shirley Rada on February 8, 1964.
Mick joined the South Dakota Department of Games Fish and Parks as a Conservation Officer. He was stationed at Chamberlain, Woonsocket and Philip for 19 years. The family moved to Spearfish in 1989 and Mick retired in 1997 after 33 years of service.
He started a habitat consulting business and commercial spraying business. Mick loved to hunt and enjoyed trips to Arizona, Kansas, Idaho, Canada and many other places to pursue game.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Muck, Spearfish; son, Dave and his wife Kelli Muck and their children, Paige and Porter, Rapid City; daughter, Nancy and her husband Jim Lei and their children, Carter and Collin, Chandler, AZ; one brother, Gary and his wife Eddy Michaels, and niece and nephew, Shannon and Greg, Los Angeles, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
