IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Roy
Kindt
April 14, 1968 – February 21, 2017
Michael Roy Kindt was born April 14, 1968, to Sheila and Doug Kindt. He was born with a congenital heart defect and he always considered himself lucky to be alive. He underwent open heart surgery at a couple days and years old to give him the best chance of survival. When he was young he lived in Wyoming but spent most of his childhood growing up in Custer, SD, with his sister, Brandi.
When he was 25, he had a son, Hadrian Michael. Hadrian was the light of his life. He was very proud of his son and was very determined to not just be a father to him but to be the best father he could possibly be. He moved to Spearfish to attend Black Hills State University to gain an education to better support his son. While attending college, he met and fell in love with his wife, Lisa Hinz. After dating for five years they married on September 30, 2000. He always said Lisa was the best thing that happened to him and the two most important people in his life were Lisa and Hadrian.
Michael had many careers throughout his life. He was a cook, a cashier, a fake psychic, a sport betting tout, and a produce clerk. But his true passion and what he enjoyed most was writing. He authored two books (with a third soon to be released). His sense of humor was dark, somewhat twisted and thoroughly entertaining. He had a sharp wit and was extremely intelligent. He had a natural curiosity about everything around him. He had a thirst for knowledge and read vast amounts on varied subjects. He had a large collection of bibles and knew the differences of each one. He enjoyed cooking for the people he loved. He enjoyed taking care of his wife as much as she took care of him. He also had a kind heart when it came to his pets. He loved to care for animals, especially if they seemed to have no one else who would want to care for them. He also had a collection of cacti he grew from seeds. He commented they would be around long after he was gone.
Michael Kindt left this earth far too soon on February 21, 2017. He will be deeply missed by his wife and son, not to mention by countless family members and friends. He was one of a kind and can never be replaced.
