Michael Eugene Knaub, 47, Belle Fourche, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at his residence.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Tom Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Vale Cemetery.

Mike was born June 12, 1964, at Deadwood, SD, to Wilbur and Hazel (Trohkimoinen) Knaub. He went to school in Newell and graduated from Newell High School where he participated in track, football, and basketball. Mike attended Black Hills State College in Spearfish before heading to work in the oil and methane gas fields near Gillette, WY. He was employed by the City of Belle Fourche at the time of his death.

Mike married Patricia "Trish" Steveson at Newell, SD, on April 30, 2011.

Mike enjoyed trips to the lake where he loved to fish. He also liked to hunt.

Survivors include his wife, Trish Knaub, Belle Fourche; mother, Hazel Knaub, Newell; son, Ryan Knaub, Belle Fourche; daughter, Keli Knaub, Belle Fourche; step sons, Nick Steveson, Watford City, ND, and Brandyn Steveson, Charles City, IA; brothers, Doug Knaub, Vale, and Dana Knaub, Pampa, TX; and sisters, Robin Garro, Gillette, WY, and Lisa Seth, Rapid City.

He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and his father, Wilbur.

A memorial has been established for an educational fund for his children.
