Mike was born to William and Eleanor (Barstch) Liebespeck on February 12, 1951, in St. Louis, MO. The family moved to California where he spent his childhood years. He joined the Army at age 17 and served for two years before returning home and working with his dad at Junior Steel.

The traveling bug soon hit Mike which led to his career as an over-the-road truck driver for 30+ years. He drove over 4 million accident-free miles. This career led him all over the United States.

Mike married Cindy Litzinger on February 2, 2002. They enjoyed spending some time together in the truck before settling down in the Black Hills Area, eventually ending up in Hermosa.

Besides trucking and eating his way across the US, Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, watching TV, and sleeping.

Mike died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at his residence.

Mike is survived by his wife, Cindy Liebespeck; son, Michael Liebespeck, Hermosa; daughter, Sherri Parker, Washington; sisters, Jackie Neff, Rapid City, and Kathy (Jon) Andicochea, Corona, CA; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

His was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Richard Neff.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hermosa, SD, with Pastor Deb Grismer officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. Attendees are encouraged to wear Raider attire in honor of Mike (yes, even you Bronco fans).

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help cover various expenses.
